Top 5 Female TV Characters.

Hello everyone!

So today i’m going to share with you my favourite female TV Characters!
Now, something you may not know about me is just how much i LOVE watching tv. (Well, Netflix, but you get the idea) That’s why i decided to share with you some of my favourite TV characters.

Don’t worry i won’t tell you ALL of them as we could be here until 2017. No seriously, the list of shows i watch/watched is a little bit crazy. Also i’ve tried to give away no spoilers so it should all be ok.

Anyway, on with the list!

First up is ;

Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) from the show Parks and Recreation. Leslie is everything right with the world. She is optimistic, hard working, determined and extremely loveable. When i watched this show i instantly adored her character. She radiates positivity in such a humorous way and i can only wish that i had half as much enthusiasm as she does!

giphy (3)

Bo Dennis (Anna Silk) from Lost Girl. Bo is a bad ass mother fu***er. That is without a doubt the main reason i loved this character, its her power and strength that is charming. Watching her put the worlds to right in this secret Fae world, whilst using her supernatural charm to win and sometimes even kill her opponents. Are you kidding me? What about that isn’t just cool. A female lead, going around and sorting shit out. YOU GO GIRL.

giphy (2)

Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) from Pretty Little Liars. Ok so until maybe season 4 i wasn’t a huge Spencer fan but i have just adored her in these later seasons. I think her character is actually one of the best. She feels human to me. What i mean by that, is Spencer as a character could be someone i know in real life. She’s a hard working student, she has her realistic problems for someone of that age, she isn’t the obvious comic in the show but her dry wit is relatable and unlike the other girls in the show i find her the most down to earth character.

giphy (4)

Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) on Greys Anatomy. As soon as Arizona arrived in Greys i was a fan of hers, she is a paediatric doctor for crying out loud, she saves tiny babies whilst wearing Heelys. Adorable. Also, she is the character responsible for perhaps my favourite monologue within a show Good Man in a Storm.Seriously go to Youtube and watch that monologue, it is mind blowing, Jessica Capshaw- take a bow. Her character became the perfect match for Doctor Calliope and their wedding was clearly inspirational to a lot of the LGBT community. Throughout all her ups and downs I cannot help but feel emotionally invested with this character. Perhaps what i like about Arizona is her tiny but mighty vibe she gives off.

giphy (1)

Samantha Jones (Candace Bushnell) Sex and The City. Samantha is the girl everyone wishes they were a little bit more like. Out-spoken, confident and the life of any social situation. Samantha is independent and has a no-filter way of living. Her lavish lifestyle is incredibly fitting, and out of the four of them she should be the one you hate however unlike the other three Samantha is never boring and thats why you cant help but like her. She’s not tied down by kids, money or being sad about something silly unlike some *cough* Carrie *cough* She is living and i love it.

giphy (5)

Finally, now this is not so much a character as i couldn’t pick just one but

Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? i don’t even know if i can say much more on the subject, but anyone who can play that many characters and have me feeling so many different feels, surely deserves a mention on this list!

giphy (6).gif

So there you have it guys, i did have to make this list smaller so if you want a part 2 i can add more of my favourites there and also my favourite male characters?!

Thanks again for reading,
Let me know in the comments who are your favourites!

Bandzee: Add a pop of colour to your hairstyles.

Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a great week so far.

Today i’m going to be showing you the wonderful new hair bands i received from Bandzee*.

Bandzee are a company who know how to do hair ties!! You’ve probably seen hair ties like these around. They are the flat ones that sit on your wrist and almost double as bracelets.

Made from super soft elastic, these bands are less likely to break than your average bundle of bobbles you picked up for 99p in Superdrug. They are also better for your hair as they wont tug and pull as much. Fabulous!

The bands come in sets of four and cost £5.95 per pack.

Here is a picture of the beautiful ones I have in my collection;

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Processed with VSCO with f2 preset

The quality of these bands are great. They stretch pretty well and hold their natural shape after too, the only thing I wish was possible was for the patterned ones to be printed on both sides.

Here are my favourite patterned ones I have in my bundle;

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Processed with VSCO with f3 preset

I love the colours used in these three. They really have the wow factor to add a little fun to boring and repetitive hairstyles.
(Sidenote; see what I mean? They could be bracelets, Cute Hey!)

The first time I wore my bands out I used them at the end of my braids. To add a pop of colour and a little bit of sass to my hairstyle.

I think they just look super cute! I wish you could buy pairs of the same styles though as I would love matching bands to finish my braids.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my new favourite hair ties. I suggest you go look at the Bandzee website here; Bandzee and find the right bundle for you!

They also have a monthly subscription box available at just £4.96 BARGAIN!

Thanks for reading, let me know which set you think is the best

What went on at the Blogging event: Bloggers Fashion Week!

Hello everyone me again.

Hope you’re all enjoying this beautiful sunshine we’ve had for the past few days.

Today’s post is all about the last event I attended at Provisonal Studios Hoxton. Again hosted by the wonderful Bloggers Hangout. After having my invitation land in my inbox I immediately looked at the wonderful brands that were attending and got incredibly excited!

Some I had heard of before, some I had never heard of before and I was more than excited to have the chance to look and learn about both new and old brands.

Before heading to the event I picked out my outfit, standard skinny black jeans, boots, a cropped white tee, leather jacket and a hat. I know. A hat, I never wear hats.

I grabbed my trusty little Olympus camera and jumped in to my Uber.
Arriving at the studios at around 12:30 I was immediately excited to see the more casual and calm room than the previous event. There wasn’t half as many people and I think this was really due to the fact of the time but also because the day was in two sessions. One 12-3pm one 6-9pm.

I gave myself enough time at the event to chat to pretty much all the brands. From nails to hair, face to feet, make up to keeping fit. There were all sorts of brands ready to offer tips, tricks and samples of their products.

I learnt so much in such a short time at the event and I cannot wait to show you all the items I was gifted. Side note; these posts are coming there is just so much to trial and show you all-stay tuned for those, i’m working my way through the products! I’ll have posts coming from Annie Haak, Lab 2 beauty, Sensationail, Leighton Denny, Magnitone, Monuskin, Weleda, Amie, Paul Mitchell, The Curl Company, SBC gels & Kenneth Turner.

I am loving the Blogger Hangout events, i love talking to the brands, i loved learning so much and i cannot wait to see more in the future.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Beauty & Bra Haul.

Hello beautiful people i hope you’re all well!
It’s finally here, the post you wanted to see!
It’s my, TK MAXX mini-haul!

Whilst looking for decorations for my Galentines themed afternoon tea, I wandered into TKMAXX looking for different cups and saucers, to my dismay there wasn’t a home section in this store (which is the stupidest thing ever) however I spotted the beauty isle and it was bye bye tea cups, hello shiny new purchases.

I had been lucky enough to pick up a Nars lipgloss in the past from TKMAXX so I was excited to see what they had in store.

This brings me to my first item,

The Olivia Palermo collection with Ciate. Somehow I hadn’t heard of this collaboration lipstick before but as soon as I saw the colour I was sold.

You may have noticed by now I am a fan of lipsticks. They are my (not guilty at all) guilty pleasure. I mean, this blog is basically becoming my life and lipstick but who can complain when they are so beautiful!?

The formula of this lipstick feels great! It’s smooth and velvety and a single swipe gives a good amount of colour. There’s nothing I hate more than feeling like I’m painting a lipstick on for the smallest amount of colour to come through, therefor I was truly impressed with this lipstick.

The colour I purchased Is called Cashmere. It’s a nude based lipstick with soft brown undertones, which is something completely different to what I usually go for. That seems to be a theme recently with me, I’m trying out more and more colours. It’s just more fun.

In TKMAXX this lipstick was just £5.99 which is the bargain of the century with it retailing at £19.00 I mean, my only wish is that I could have got all the colours available, however the fingerprints on the other lipsticks put me off. Seriously guys, stop poking products, is gross.

Next up is another Ciate product, this time it’s a nail polish. Now, I love painting my nails, my Nanna is insanely talented at nail art and I’ve grown up admiring her talent and nail polish collection, the only problem is, I cannot wear nail polish for work and so have stopped buying as many as I used to. This one however I couldn’t leave in the store.

It’s a black based polish with gold yellow and copper shimmers running through, and not in a tacky clumpy chunks of glitter kind of way , it’s more of a subtle twinkling type of glitter. Now, hold for how cheesy this is but it’s almost like the stars in the sky kind of glitter, super pretty!

The reason I adore this is that my favourite colour is black, you may have noticed, and I also love anything that glitters, so it’s perfect! I feel I could wear this when going for cocktails with the girls for that extra little sparkle. The name of the polish is twilight and I think that perfectly describes the colour you’re going to get.

This polish retails at £9.00 but I bought it for £3.99

Now it’s not all beauty in TKMAXX there are some hidden gems dotted throughout the store. I took a look at the underwear isle and soon enough I found myself with two bras in my basket.

First up is this two tone black and nude bra from the Heidi Klum collection. What pulled me towards buying this item was the detail, the three bows, the contrasting  black floral lace on the nude base and the ribbon running along the frame of the bra. There is a lot going on with this garment and its just stunning.

The bra is underwired and like any other bra can be tightened at the straps. There isn’t any padding which I prefer, however it does push up the bust and creates a flattering shape framing the collar bones.

This bra is called Amelia by Heidi Kulm Currently on sale in Selfridges for £38 I grabbed this for only £9.99.

The second bra I picked up is from the Jessica Simpson collection, and it’s just incredible. This lace bralet has underwire but no padding. It’s perfect for those days when you are lounging around and want to feel comfortable.

Also, it’s super sexy. The slightly see through lace makes this one super delicate though, so hand wash only! The tag says $31 dollars which is around £22 but again TKMAXX gave me an incredible saving and it was only £6.99

Ok, that was a brief break from beauty (pun fully intended) so back to make up we go.

Next up, are my last two beautiful finds. Eyeshadow.

First up, Stila. Whilst browsing I stumbled upon this single Stila eyeshadow.

This colour is the exact colour I like to use for the base of my eyelids. I adore colours like this because they create a solid base that is easy to build upon. It’s an almost sandy colour that looks natural but just gives the eyes that beautiful finish.

Here’s a swatch of the colour on my pale hands. It’s just delicious! The eyeshadow also feels really nice and has an almost satin finish, not grainy at all, like others I’ve come across before. It’s a well formulated powder that I can tell is going to last a long time.

This eyeshadow retails at £18.00 but I bought it for £4.99

Next up, my favourite purchase.

Nars, is perhaps the most well known brand I will include in my blog today. It’s very highly recommended amongst other bloggers, so I was again excited to grab this perfect duo.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

Just look at it *ahhhhhhhh* these golden/orange colours are a dream for someone who uses Browns and coppers more often than not. The shadow on the left is matte and the right has a shimmer to it. I cannot wait to blend these colours into my darker browns and give that orange colour burst to my blue eyes.

The Nars duo eyeshadows retail at around £25 however this was only £9.99

So in total had i paid the retail price for all the above items i would have paid around £131.00 but thanks to TK MAXX i only paid £41.94
I still cannot get over that huge saving of £89.04

I hope you liked my mini-haul guys!

Let me know of what other bargains your have found in your local TK MAXX and if you haven’t before have a pop in next time and see what you can find!

Thanks for reading

Valentine’s inspired look ❤️

Ok so it’s here guys, it’s Valentine’s Day on Sunday! No matter if you love it or hate it, you can’t avoid it, its here once every year and I think out of all the holidays this one gets the most varied response. It’s the marmite of all holidays I’d say! Still, I thought I’d share with you my valentines inspired look. To give all you date-goers a little help when it comes to dressing up this Valentine’s.

Of course with it being Valentine’s Day I went with one of my favourite red dresses that I own. I actually bought this dress for my graduation party when leaving performing arts school and through every house change, clear out, and wardrobe re-vamp. This little red dress has stayed a favourite of mine. Just look at it, it’s so simple yet the sequins & beads give just enough detail to really lift up the top half of the dress and catch the eye.

I adore everything about the fit of this dress, the sweetheart styled bandeau is extremely flattering, especially on small boob’ed people like myself. This is helped by the boning on the top half, helping give structure to the garment whilst accentuating my smaller waist. The floaty skirt makes me feel like a princess. Pretty much what every girl should feel like on Valentine’s Day surely! If you can twirl it in, it counts as being a princess dress by my standards.

One thing I was surprised by with this ASOS beauty was how lovely the colour complimented fair skin. I think with pale skin red is a bold move and can sometimes come off a little too dramatic, that’s certainly not the case here.
For my make up I stuck to the red theme I had going for Valentine’s and using my go-to red lipstick in the shade Ruby Woo I accentuated those lips, kissing here I come!

I kept my foundation light and my eyes simple with a little dark brown in the crease and champagne pop shimmer on the lids. I stayed away from harsh contouring and instead gave myself a little more highlighter than bronzer, just to stick to this pale almost English-rose Valentine’s look. I added black eyeliner to the outer ends of my eyelids to make my eyes appear wider and create that loveable doe-eyed appearance.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Valentine’s inspired look. Whatever your plans are this Valentine’s I hope you have a wonderful day!

Top 5 things that suck about being a girl!

Hello, for those of you who may not already know, i’m Danielle and i have decided today’s post is going to be a list of my personal top 5 reasons of why being a girl SUCKS!

Thats right, you knew it was going to all start here.

Periods, suck. Big time. I have never heard any one describe being on their period as a delightful time. It’s not exactly something you’d compare to a stroll in the park. It’s more like trying to make it over hot lava on fragile stepping stones without sneezing or coughing for a week or sometimes maybe more.

Being on your period sucks. The cramps, the mood swings, the want to eat everything and also nothing at the same time. The back pain, the spots the unexpected arrival. Everything about periods suck.
Guys will never, ever understand just how horrible periods can be.
Also did i mention the added expense of periods? Tampons aren’t cheap you know, it costs a lot for this luxury of ours. Feminax will also need to be purchased. I’d say the average period* can cost easily £15 and this happens once a month! So overall we spend approximately £180.00 a year on making it a somewhat more bearable experience.

*average period based on cost for tampons when changed every 5 hours for one week. Totalling 3 boxes of tampons and one batch of Feminax Express. Not including the added cost of chocolate to stop me from acting like a bitch for the week.

The fear, the fear of losing your virginity. Thinking about sex as a teenager is some scary ass shit. Why on earth would i want that?! We are told that we are going to bleed, it will probably hurt and then maybe end up with a baby i never planned. SURE! That seems like a great idea. Admittedly as you get older and wiser you realise this is not so scary after all, in fact you will grow to love it, because there are many ways you can help prevent these unexpected babies. Which leads me to contraception. As a girl, we have again got the short end of the stick here. A man that doesn’t want babies? Here whack on a sock of latex and go to town…did i mention you can get condoms for FREE from your doctors so don’t worry about added expense lads. For girls however it’s way more difficult! Now, we do have choices when it comes to contraception, and i’m not going to say they aren’t miracle workers but they aren’t exactly as appealing as a condom.

We can choose one of the pills, now would you like the mood swing pill? The weight changing pill or the pill that you will of course forget at one point during the course of the batch because remembering every single day is quite frankly hard to keep up with sometimes. We cant just take one pill before sex like guys can put a condom on, though i bet a lot of girls wish we could!
Pill not for you?
Try the coil then.. Now, do you mind not being able to sit for a few days after whilst it’s inserted? (guys, google it)
Then if all else fails have the implant. Not only is it inserted into your body you can physically see and play with it too! Here’s to a free toy everyone!

I just think as incredible as female contraception is, guys do still have it a lot easier.

The media is tough on girls, and i literally mean every age group of girls. The media is warping our minds into having expectations that are quite frankly ridiculous. If i see one more celebrity sharing their ‘secrets’ on how they got that (insert, hype of the season) look, then it turns out to be plastic surgery, i will honestly cry.
Teenagers don’t look like teenagers anymore and i fear about what they are missing out on because of how much time they spend admiring unrealistic goals. To say girls should wear less make up would be extremely hypocritical of myself because lord knows i love my make up but i do wish that i didn’t care so much, but i do…and do you know why i do, because everyones seen those column in magazines like ‘CELEBRITY ON BEACH LOOKS HOMELESS WITH NO MAKE UP’ or ‘CELEBRITY HAS NEVER LOOKED WORSE GOING TO GYM’ and because of these attacks on people i admire i have become scared that is how the world will also see me. I know i will never have a Kardashian figure, i will never have hair like Jennifer Aniston but still i like, i comment and i follow their lifestyles on social media, i myself stalk their lifestyles one click at a time and i cannot see the point in stopping because i think now, you cannot escape media and if you do FOMO kicks in and you will go running back. Being a girl sucks, when you’re not the ideal version of yourself.

Being a girl sucks because of the expectations on grooming, i remember when i first wanted to start shaving and how my mother warned me once i start i will have to carry on for the rest of my life. Like many of mum and i’s conversations i didn’t take the FOREVER part seriously. I should have listened, because it’s true. Grooming is an essential part of any womans life, unless you are one of those women who feels entirely comfortable not shaving then YOU GO GIRL! i wish i could feel like you, but i cant. I cannot stand the idea of not shaving, but i cannot also stand the idea of how long and how ridiculous the upkeep of shaving is. So i was told waxing is supposed to last longer, i remember i went for my legs and eyebrows done at the same time. Thats right i willingly let a stranger pour hot wax on my face and rip it off, just so i could feel less like Chewbacca. Surprisingly my eyebrows didn’t hurt, my legs however was a horrible experience that i have never returned to. Not only that, what i thought was a pain free face experience turned out to make me the laughing stock in the family as my face turned red from the wax. Not the best of times. I remember my mum bought me an epilator one year after i basically begged for it, the woman on the advert made it look so effortless, she must have had the pain threshold of a rock because having a tiny machine rip out every hair was again not the solution for myself. Grooming is hard and the only way to find what works for you is experimenting! At least winter is our friend, you can bet for sure i am NOT shaving my legs under this wool bottoms throughout December.

Finding that perfect outfit as a girl sucks, and don’t even think about getting a dress for a party from Topshop anymore because you can bet that at least 2 other girls will be wearing the same. I find personally that finding an outfit i feel amazing in can usually be a less than enjoyable experience. So here’s a list of my least favourite things about being a girl when it comes to fashion

When you finally try on the perfect dress and it’s nothing like it looks on the model. When you order online and the colour is completely different upon arrival. When you have to get a size bigger than you thought you were. When your jeans are too long/too short. When the waist fits but your boobs are too big or in my case when the body fits but it’s too baggy around the boobs. Cameltoe. Need i say anymore? Crop tops after a meal. Those bikini’s that have tiny straps cut out that make your legs look like a piece of ham from the butchers with that string on it. Coats where the hood refuses to stay up. SUEDE, why look so good but then resent the english weather.

Sidenote; yes i was on my period when i wrote this, i do actually believe being a girl can be awesome too but i am not in the mood for that today. Boys, i’m not saying you have a easy life, i’m sure you too have your troubles just get back to me when you can feel the pain of giving birth. Now where is my ben and jerry’s

Hair Braids & Glitter – A very 90’s feel! ✨

Hello everyone!

Todays post is going to be all about two wonderful hair products i was gifted at the Big Blogger Conference!

They are the Redken Braid aid and the Metal Fix hair glitters.

First up is the hair glitter!
Now if you know me at all, you would already have guessed how excited i was to receive these. My inner Ke$ha and Miley were ready and raring to go! I still don’t know how I managed to save them both until i went on holiday with my friend. Packing them into my suitcase i knew she was going to think i was crazy, and that was just what i was going for, i mean , i’m 23 and i’m putting glitter into my hair. this is so 90’s going to a steps concert with hair mascara and i am LIVING for it!

So…more about the product itself!

Inside the box there are two tubes, one silver and one gold tube of gel like glitter. The gel itself is quite this upon application but when worked into the hair looks beautiful. I used quite a huge amount on the end of my hair and then using a fine comb continued to brush the product through. This works well when wanting to create a subtle shimmer, that however, was NOT what i opted for on holiday!

As you can see here, i created two braids, one at either side of my head (Using the braid aid of course) and then in a finger painting kind of sense. Moved the glitter over the plaits to the back of the hair.

What i must say about this product is, don’t worry about it coming off. It will stay put all night, no question! I have no shame in saying the next morning, as i sat at breakfast, sipping my peppermint tea not wanting to draw attention to my little hungover self. My hair still wanted to be the centre of attention. It was still in full party mode, the glitter was just as vibrant as the night before and i just couldn’t put my fragile little head through the pain of brushing that out so early!
In fact, i ended up not brushing my hair until i washed it out, and thats exactly what i recommend you do! Other wise, it is the most pain EVER.

Next Up.. Braid Aid.

Let me start off by saying, i adore this packaging. It’s so clever. There is a pump on the product rather than having to squeeze the tube. The product comes out effortlessly. PERFECT. Now, i love braiding my hair. Any way i can get a braid in my hair. I will. So naturally on holiday when going swimming i braided my hair and of course used the braid aid.

What i love is how the braid aid acted as a binder and helped control my fly-away hair. Having some parts of my hair shorter than the others this has become a favourite product of mine. It just helps give more texture to the hair and create more secure braids.

There is however one negative of this product, and that for me is the smell. It’s just a little over powering, so do go easy on the amount you use if you also don’t like your hair smelling like it’s obviously got product in it.

All in all, i am a huge fan of both of these products.
If i could i would use the hair glitter just as much as i use the braid aid.
I can’t wait to figure out how i’m going to involve the glitter into my halloween costume this year!

Has anyone else tried these products?!
Let me know what you think
