What 6 months in Vietnam has taught me.

Can you believe I’ve been in Vietnam six months now? I remember when I made my YouTube video saying I was moving here ; https://youtu.be/2Lt5kwr7IdY

Now it’s six months down the line and I’ve taken some time to reflect and appreciate my self growth. So here let me share with you;

1. I learnt how to ride a scooter! Here in Hanoi. I know I’m crazy right. With only a couple of self taught driving lessons I’m now whizzing around Hanoi. The traffic is crazy and I did throw the bike across the parking lot at my work once but hey, this is still a major achievement for me!

2. I’m a teacher. I literally teach tiny humans our crazy language. You know what else guys? I feel like I may just be good at this! I adore the children and I find my job thoroughly enjoyable.

3. I’ve tried food I wouldn’t even dare to in England. The food scene here can be crazy different to back home so I think it’s important to try as much as possible, even though I don’t like it. I mean, who else can say they’ve eaten stingray just because….

4. On Mondays I take two dance classes Ballet and Contemporary , at a class where the teacher speaks no English and I no Vietnamese. Probably the biggest dance challenge of my life and that includes auditions. Yet, I loved it, dancing is something I adore and it was an amazing challenge to take on. He even made me solo for the group at the end- Petrifying.

5. I’ve explored Thailand. I’ve seen from the south sunny island of Koh Phangan and up to the north little town of Pai. I’ve bathed in hot springs, splashed in waterfalls, walked with the elephants and explored temples all over the cities.

6. I’ve learnt happiness is fundamental I’ve had significantly less negative MH days here in comparison to the UK. I truly believe this is because I’m happier than I was working my mundane job 24/7 in London.

7. I’ve come to appreciate my loved ones so much more. Being away from them makes me miss their traits, but not in a homesick kind of way, but more of a splendorous kind of way.

8. I’ve fallen more in love than ever. With my partner, with myself and with my life.

It’s really crazy how six months can change how you feel in different aspects of your life.

So if today, you get the chance. Remember, you can do anything you want, be anything you want to be and life how you want to live.

Please do comment and tell me something you’ve learnt about yourself in the past six months

Two thousand and something else…

So that’s it 2016 came and went in a flash.Well that’s how it felt most of the time.

Am i happy with how the universe played out this year? Well no not completely, i am not however i would like to say it has definitely been one year that i will not forget.

Now, i am not going to join in by saying GOOD RIDDANCE 2016 or THANK GOD 2016 IS GONE  because i cannot see the future i don’t know if i’m leaving behind the terrible things 2016 threw at me or if i am now walking head first into the mess that started in 2016 only for it to continue into 2017, but i sure as hell am not going to waste my time dwelling on negativity and what ifs. I highly recommend you try not to either.

2016 gave me both ups and downs, i felt every emotion on the spectrum, i visited new places around the world, i had my first christmas away from home, i realised how horrible it feels when your vote doesn’t win (cough Brexit cough) and i learned to say ‘ahhh FUCK IT’

Within the year of 2016 i found my sunshine and rainbows in the form of;

New Friends- I met so many beautiful people in 2016. Mainly from my old workplace, i have met some of the most wonderful souls and cannot begin to thank 2016 enough for that. Also my beautiful best friend asked her girlfriend to marry her in 2016, not only am i happy that they will be getting married now but even the fact that LGBT couples CAN get married still makes me happy.

Travels – In 2016 alone, i went to Ibiza, Bangkok, Koh Phangan, Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Guernsey and Cornwall. I saw more beautiful places around this silly little world. I realised i’m a teeny-tiny little part of beautiful big world and it’s actually incredibly fascinating.

Music – I managed to attend my first festival this year Lovebox , I saw Queen Beyonce and as always Ellie Goulding was incredible. I listened to so much more music this year and expanded my outlook on what i like and don’t like. I listened to everything and anything spotify gave me.

Days Out – Perhaps some of my favourite days in 2016 were day trips, Kew Gardens in London is so beautiful and walking amongst the tree tops was so beautiful. Harry Potter world at the Warner brothers studios was so much fun! The Eden project is something i recommend everyone goes to and try the zip line. PRIDE in London, a day full of glitter and cans of alcohol, people line the streets even in the rain to celebrate who they are and support others. Even though it was a crowded mess of rainbows i wouldn’t change it for the world!

Nights Out – London has some incredible places for drinks and i feel that in 2016 i really managed to take advantage of that. Great nights out with good friends and loud music can really be just the perfect way to let go and have some fun! Same as, getting together with the girls for cocktails and leaving drinks can be the perfect farewell, especially when there is gin involved.

As always 2017 had its negatives, i lost someone very important to my family, i moved over 5000 miles away from home and i changed my career goals but you know what?

I grew up.

Im not sure theres much more to say on that matter, i opened my mind, i said yes to more things i would usually say no to. I stopped being as afraid of everything i found too hard to comprehend. I trusted my heart more than my head. I fell hard and i got back up. I spiralled down and bounced back up like a firework. I exploded with anger and i sunk with sadness, i found happiness in the small things, and i laughed harder than i ever imagined but above all of this, i gave myself the time, respect and courage to carry on and accept all these feelings are justified , they are important and they are to be encouraged. They are me and i am ok with that.

Ok, so i know this was a short post for me but with the new year having been and gone,  i thought it was something that i should share with you all.

Thanks for reading

10 life lessons everyone deserves to know 🎉

Hi everyone! In case you didn’t know already know, ITS MY BIRTHDAY and naturally me being me, thought well, then there’s no better time than now to reflect on what I’ve learnt so far in life. So here I am, sharing it all with you! Enjoy.

Let’s kick it off;

1. Celebrate yourself. It’s good to feel proud of the amazing things that you do. Self love is something I didn’t learn until far too late in my life. You need to notice when you have done something incredible and give yourself a pat on the back.

2. Travel as much as possible. Things are nice but memories are so much more! You need to see that famous landmark more than you need that new iPhone. Embrace new experiences.

3. It’s ok to feel sad, it is ok to feel down, it’s ok to feel lost. Believe it or not, everyone has these days. Sometimes it can be feel impossible to move on, how you deal with this is up to you. If you want to talk then do, if you don’t want to talk then you don’t have to. Take some time, put yourself in a safe and nurturing environment. Keep yourself loved.

4. Friends may not be around forever, so make as many memories as you can with all of them when you’re there. It’s normal to make new friends and drift apart from others, everyone is growing up and changing, embrace this and don’t be afraid to let them go. New friendships are on the horizon.

5. Help others, be kind, be considerate and generous. It will only create good karma, it’s something that builds character and will make you a much better person.

6. You are going to lose very important people in your life so hold onto them as tightly as possible whilst they are around. Be sure to tell the people you love, that you love them constantly. Shower them in appreciation. Take no one for granted.

7. Don’t shoot other people’s ideas and opinions down instantly. Debate them, trial them. You may just discover another way of looking at the same old.

8. Nothing is lame or uncool. Don’t quit or change because of others words. NOTHING makes you a loser. All those clubs you are joining, your music choice, your fashion sense, your sexuality. It’s not lame it’s who you are and you shouldn’t feel like you have to be put down because of it.

9. Break ups and make ups. It’s just the way of the world. Don’t base your relationships on the ideals of others. Find someone who loves you for being you and live each day one step at a time. Don’t plan ahead too much, the person who expects the most from you should only be you. Side note: if a friends going through a break up…YOU TOO ARE GOING THROUGH A BREAK UP. Friends stick together.

10. Don’t let your dreams die. As children we can create dreams, hopes and ambitions bigger than space. As adults we can lose sight of this and shrink ourselves with notions of ‘I’m not good enough’ or ‘I don’t have time for this’. It’s important to keep your mind open. Keep those dreams at the front and centre of your mind. It’s gonna take more work than you imagined as a child but now it’s up to you, a grown up…go make it happen!!

Have a happy my birthday everyone ✌🏻️😘

Why finding a place to clear your mind is important.🍃🍃

Ok today’s blog is about how I like to clear my mind. I feel sometimes it’s hard to just switch off. I find that getting myself to get up get dressed and head for a walk can help me to relax. I think it’s important to find a place you can clear you mind at and help yourself become happier.

Here I am in my big woolly hat that may just be my favourite ASOS purchase yet and heading for the local park.

I find where I live in London there isn’t many quiet areas but during school hours the park is quite tranquil. There is a bench at the back that i like to sit at and watch the world go by. I’m the kind of person that can very easily get lost in a day dream. So I never feel the need to have to be walking, or talking or doing something.  I can easily spend time just day dreaming.

I don’t entirely know why but I feel when I’m outdoors that I’m not as stressed thinking about things as to when I’m indoors. Now what I mean by this is, when I’m out cleaning my mind I’m usually making a dream, a plan a goal. Whereas usually when I’m at home I’m scheduling or stressing about what I want to achieve and how I’m not there yet.

Something about the cold on my skin or the sun beams poking out from behind the clouds  warming my cheeks puts me at ease. I think it’s important to take the most of these moments, treasure the simple things In life, remember to take time out of your busy schedules to centre yourself and make sure you feel good!

There really is nothing better than fresh air to free the mind don’t you agree?

10 ways to survive that dreaded long haul flight.

1.Choose your seat wisely. Ideally if you can choose a seat before you check in do it. Or turn up early and make sure you get a seat with whoever you are travelling with. Don’t be left alone on a flight thats going to take a while.
giphy (70).gif
2. Following up on that, if you can get a seat without anyone in front of you, do it. The last thing you want is what happened to me. (A guy thinking it’s completely acceptable to recline his seat onto my lap, wanna just come hop on over and spoon me whilst you’re at it? – if you can’t already tell, i was not impressed)

giphy (68).gif
3. SNACKS. SNACKS. SNACKS. Plane food, is NOT the win. Now i know some people are fine with that solid bread roll but i, i just cant compare it to an actual edible piece of bread so i take snacks. Sweet & Savoury and a whole lot of water. Keep hydrated.
giphy (67).gif
4. Try to set your body clock whilst you’re in the air. If it’s 11pm where you’re landing then you should be sleeping on that plane. Try to keep with what time of the day/night it would be in the country you’re about to touch down in.
giphy-66
5. Wear comfy clothes. The plane is not a catwalk, you’re not going to look your best after being squashed in one seat for a long time anyway so the least you can do is give yourself the most comfort and embrace life in those comfy jumpers/leggings/baggy tee’s whatever it is you feel good in.
ALWAYS keep a jacket though, the air-con is going to hit you at one point so take something you can wrap up in should you need it.
giphy-65
6. Get up and walk around. You should try to keep as active as possible, stretch your legs. Walk to the bathroom. Make sure you are moving, unless you like pins and needles that is.
giphy-61
7. Two items i cannot get on a plane without are; headbands and chapstick. These two are my favourite pocket items on a long haul flight. They are simple but effective.
giphy-62
8. Take advantage of the entertainment on board the flight. The movies, tv shows, music, games, podcasts.(the alcohol) Anything to keep the brain awake.
giphy-60
9. Now is the perfect time to research and plan your upcoming trip, you have so much time to make an itinerary and to think about exactly what you’re going to do whilst you’re on holiday so make the most of it!
giphy-64
10. Pack light. Take a nice size bag with all your essentials in it as carry on luggage. Keep your passport, phone, and anything else you’ll immediately need in a separate wallet so you can easy get to them when you need them at the border etc.

Top 5 Female TV Characters.

Hello everyone!

So today i’m going to share with you my favourite female TV Characters!
Now, something you may not know about me is just how much i LOVE watching tv. (Well, Netflix, but you get the idea) That’s why i decided to share with you some of my favourite TV characters.

Don’t worry i won’t tell you ALL of them as we could be here until 2017. No seriously, the list of shows i watch/watched is a little bit crazy. Also i’ve tried to give away no spoilers so it should all be ok.

Anyway, on with the list!

First up is ;

Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) from the show Parks and Recreation. Leslie is everything right with the world. She is optimistic, hard working, determined and extremely loveable. When i watched this show i instantly adored her character. She radiates positivity in such a humorous way and i can only wish that i had half as much enthusiasm as she does!

giphy (3)

Bo Dennis (Anna Silk) from Lost Girl. Bo is a bad ass mother fu***er. That is without a doubt the main reason i loved this character, its her power and strength that is charming. Watching her put the worlds to right in this secret Fae world, whilst using her supernatural charm to win and sometimes even kill her opponents. Are you kidding me? What about that isn’t just cool. A female lead, going around and sorting shit out. YOU GO GIRL.

giphy (2)

Spencer Hastings (Troian Bellisario) from Pretty Little Liars. Ok so until maybe season 4 i wasn’t a huge Spencer fan but i have just adored her in these later seasons. I think her character is actually one of the best. She feels human to me. What i mean by that, is Spencer as a character could be someone i know in real life. She’s a hard working student, she has her realistic problems for someone of that age, she isn’t the obvious comic in the show but her dry wit is relatable and unlike the other girls in the show i find her the most down to earth character.

giphy (4)

Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) on Greys Anatomy. As soon as Arizona arrived in Greys i was a fan of hers, she is a paediatric doctor for crying out loud, she saves tiny babies whilst wearing Heelys. Adorable. Also, she is the character responsible for perhaps my favourite monologue within a show Good Man in a Storm.Seriously go to Youtube and watch that monologue, it is mind blowing, Jessica Capshaw- take a bow. Her character became the perfect match for Doctor Calliope and their wedding was clearly inspirational to a lot of the LGBT community. Throughout all her ups and downs I cannot help but feel emotionally invested with this character. Perhaps what i like about Arizona is her tiny but mighty vibe she gives off.

giphy (1)

Samantha Jones (Candace Bushnell) Sex and The City. Samantha is the girl everyone wishes they were a little bit more like. Out-spoken, confident and the life of any social situation. Samantha is independent and has a no-filter way of living. Her lavish lifestyle is incredibly fitting, and out of the four of them she should be the one you hate however unlike the other three Samantha is never boring and thats why you cant help but like her. She’s not tied down by kids, money or being sad about something silly unlike some *cough* Carrie *cough* She is living and i love it.

giphy (5)

Finally, now this is not so much a character as i couldn’t pick just one but

Tatiana Maslany in Orphan Black. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? i don’t even know if i can say much more on the subject, but anyone who can play that many characters and have me feeling so many different feels, surely deserves a mention on this list!

giphy (6).gif

So there you have it guys, i did have to make this list smaller so if you want a part 2 i can add more of my favourites there and also my favourite male characters?!

Thanks again for reading,
Let me know in the comments who are your favourites!
